A few raw facts about me
New Zealand born. Australian raised. What started off as a butterfly in my stomach, getting a stamp in my passport and one big dream to fulfil, I moved to NZ in 2009 to become a flight attendant. I started off in domestic before doing the majority of my flying years in long haul. When I was younger, all I wanted to do when I grew up was to travel and take photos. How lucky was I to combine a passion and a career? I’ve hung up my wings for now and am juggling up a healthy balance between being a wife, a mum and a photographer.
Family is so important to me. I am the second oldest amongst 5 siblings. We are all so different yet the same in our own ways, we all share such a strong bond. I miss having them close by, but there’s nothing like a big family gathering when we are all together again. My parents are my biggest fans. They see the determination and strength within me and have always been there to give me that extra push. They help me to stay focused and trust in my journey.
One of my first friends when I moved to NZ is now my husband. He eased the pain of being homesick by taking me on adventures and showing me another piece of NZ paradise. I have always loved travelling, but meeting him gave me even more reason to travel. It meant I got to travel the world and share those unforgettable moments with the one I love. He is gentle, loyal, caring, humble and extremely patient. When I met him, I knew I wanted to make him smile for the rest of my life. He’s my best friend. We have two beautiful daughters together who make us laugh so much. They have their daddy’s smile and kind heart and their mummy’s sensitivity and affection. It’s such a joy to live life through their eyes, and I’m grateful I can capture life’s little moments with my husband and daughters by my side.
My photography is full of adventure and discovery. I live for the moments I can’t put into words and let my photography tell the story. I enjoy capturing a moment that I’d love to live again, and I believe it’s not the camera that takes the photo but the person behind it. There is so much growth in the photography world, and I still have a lot more to learn, but I’m a keen enthusiast and will always give it my best. I love getting lost behind the lens and wandering off into my own little world. Everyone has a happy place and this is mine.
I’m a sucker for a good quote. I’m emotional and passionate. I love hugs. I love to laugh. I connect with acoustic music. I’m an avid tea drinker. I love road trips and picnics. Peanut M&Ms and ice cream are my weakness. When I’m not behind my lens, you will find me at my local beach or the gym. I love to travel the world, but I am happiest when I am at home with my family. So hello, this is me. Welcome to my life through my Canon.
I hope you enjoy my photos.
